What is TMJ and How is it Treated?

TRANSCRIPT: What a TMJ is is this joint right here and it’s just an acronym for temporomandibular joint. So, everybody has it, but they use that term to express pain in this joint, pain in the jaw, pain in the neck, migraine headaches, all kinds of symptoms are related to the jaw. So, what we do to treat that is, in a neuromuscular fashion or a physiological fashion, I’ve been trained in this, and we relax the jaw muscles and allow the jaw to go back to its relaxed position. And once we find that position where the jaw wants to relax, these muscles calm down and we allow the jaw to function there. The joint heals, the muscles calm down, the migraines go away, the neck aches go away.
