Dental bonding, similar to veneers and fillings, is a procedure that applies a special material over the teeth to repair and improve ones smile. It can be used to close spaces between teeth, repair chipped teeth, repair decayed or stained teeth, or to improve their appearance.
Bonding is a short process that can be completed in one office visit. One tooth can take between thirty to sixty minutes to complete. The dentist will apply a tooth-colored resin on the tooth, mold it to the desired shape, and let it sit and harden. After it is hardened, the dentist will polish it to match surrounding teeth. This is a much more affordable alternative to veneers and fillings, but are not completely resistant to stains and do not last as long veneers or fillings.
